European Crystal Organization wants to highlight following evolution
The X21 Tuning Fork Crystal: The future standard in generating a clocking signal
The X21 is a XY-cut SMD crystal that produces a specific frequency of 32.768 kHz. We notice that this package size of 2.0 x 1.2 x 0.6 is becoming more popular for new designs that need a real-time clocking signal. As this evolution continues the price gap with today’s standard, the X31 (package: 3.2 x 1.5 x 0.9), will only get smaller.
This means that even more players on the global market will consider a change of package style due to this “smaller size for smaller price” evolution.
